Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Applications Developer for our client based in Aberdeen. This is a full time permanent position.
Initially, this role will be remote working due to Covid-19, however, in the future the candidate will be required to be based within the client's office in Aberdeen on a full time basis. It is therefore essential that candidates are located within Aberdeen and a commutable distance to our client's office.
The role of Applications Developer involves participation in and ownership of any phase of software development including specification and business case, business analysis, system design, programming, testing, deployment, support and enhancement.
The role is often customer facing and candidates are expected to have strong communication skills.
The Applications Developer will write specifications, design, build, test, implement and provide high-level application support using programming languages and development tools.
Updating, repairing, modifying and developing software;
Requirements specification via client consultation;
Design clarification and software modelling;
Working as part of temporary project teams;
Ownership / coordination of software design and testing;
Software deployment in conjunction with Operations;
Troubleshooting, debugging and rectifying software;
Adapting software to new requirements;
Skills and knowledge maintenance / development.
3 years' experience in a relevant field
Data driven applications development
Solid understanding of the software development life cycle
Source control and versioning
Excellent software development skills
Understanding of modern software development methodologies, patterns and practises
Ability to produce clear documentation and communicate ideas to others
User interface/experience design
Ability to work in a customer facing environment
Strong communication skills at all levels
