Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Cost Controller on a full time permanent basis for our client based in Invergordon. Whilst you will predominantly work from the Invergordon office, you will also be required to work from the Aberdeen office occasionally.
You will be responsible for the cost control of your projects, referring to the finance manager and support the PM of the projects with key insights into the project status. Furthermore, you will be:
Ensuring budget adherence for our projects
Assisting and developing all procedures in World Class project controlling to create a solid platform for financial reporting (WIP)
Handling day to day financial control of assigned projects.
Responsibilities
Review of contract/PO from Client, and understand the aspects affecting the projects economics.
Control and verify the project costs through all phases of a project, in close cooperation with project manager, construction manager and discipline leads.
Create invoice documentation and cost reports (client and internal) for distribution.
Documentation and cost reports (client and internal) for distribution.
Secure sales contracts are maintained (together with Bid team and Project managers) in IFS.
Setting-up WBS (Work Book Structure) together with the project manager.
Controlling of actuals, budgets/forecast and variations.
Daily to weekly reporting of finances to project manager, ex. Hours spent, procurement, or used cost compared to budget.
Daily/weekly follow up with discipline leads, to clarify status and plan for job packages, secure hours and costs are up to date according to the WBS.
Gather final cost/invoice documentation according to client requirements, work closely with client controlling & client PM in order to secure cost approval on weekly basis takes place and invoicing is performed timely and per commercial contract
Conducting Gross Margin calculations & estimates, before, during and at project end
To be successful to next stages, Applicants must have the below skills and experience:-
Must demonstrate a strong capability within the use of ERP systems and, also in the use of all Microsoft Office programs, in particular Excel
Knowledge of IFS will be considered positive.
Willing to travel in the UK and abroad when required
Structured and targeted approach to all work tasks
Ability to work independently
Service minded and committed
Used to working to tight deadlines and producing high quality work
Strong at collaboration and communication
4-6 years of controlling experience, preferably from a company in the Oil & Gas sector
