​Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced HSE Advisor on behalf of our client based in Skelmersdale. This is a full time staff position.

Our client provides high integrity solutions for the harshest and most demanding off shore environments, specialise in the development and production of polymer and syntactic foam based buoyancy and protections products for off shore renewables and oil and gas.

This will be a permanent full time role Monday to Friday with the working hours of 9am-5pm office based however the role will involve factory visits.

As a HSE Advisor you will support the HSEQ Manager in providing a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with all applicable Environmental and Health & Safety legislations.

Main Duties Include :

  • Assist and advise the HSEQ Manager regarding policy and procedures, ensuring that the Company Safety Policy is effectively applied

  • Actively support the company's goal to 'create a zero-injury environment'

  • Provide consistent and accurate HSE advice to employees

  • Provide support to the site on HSE initiatives, HSE issues/problems

  • Produce business HSE statistics monthly, identify trends and take proactive initiatives

  • Contributing to and implementing health and safety policies, procedures and risk assessments, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation

  • Developing excellent professional relationships with managers and staff to ensure responsibilities are clear. Acting as a key point of contact, working with them, understanding their challenges, supporting and advising them, helping to identify solutions, and answering health and safety related enquiries to ensure they have robust health and safety arrangements in place

  • Schedule and conduct audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance. Producing written reports with an action plan so that required improvements can be monitored and made

  • Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases

  • Carry out such other duties as may be reasonably prescribed by the Company from time-to-time

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Self-confident, personable individual capable of building strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • HSE in the manufacturing or engineering industry

  • Delivering training courses

  • undertaking risk/COSHH/PUWER assessments

  • IT packages such as MS Office and ERP Systems


  • NEBOSH General certificate and/ or IOSH Safety Certificate or equivalent

  • Associate Membership of a professional safety institute
