​Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced ICT Project Manager on behalf of our client based in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a full time permanent role.


This job description details responsibilities for the ICT Project Manager, reporting to the ICT Operations and Projects Manager.

Primary purpose of role

It is the responsibility of the ICT Project Manager to deliver a broad range of key ICT projects, leading the definition, documentation, and successful completion of projects by directing and counselling project team members, managing 3rd party vendors and advising internal and external stakeholders as necessary on all phases. In addition, ensuring that realistic project, quality, and risk plans are prepared and maintained for the project and monitoring and controlling team performance against plans & budget.

Major duties

Manage multiple projects whilst liaising with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the best outcome.

Create plans for projects complete with budgetary information and resource needs. Outline project success criteria and communicate them to all stakeholders. Provide status reporting across leadership regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues. Track and report project financials against estimate; escalate and resolve financial issues as they arise. Manage project scope, timeline and budget changes. Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards. Identify, manage and mitigate project risk Act as the escalation point when issues arise with the customer or partner on engagements. Reinforce appropriate implementation practices, templates, policies, and tools to ensure successful project delivery. Track deliverables using appropriate tools such as Asana & MS Project. Provide appropriate support and information to the ICT Operations & Projects Manager outlining relevant issues, trends and policies. Establish strong, effective relationships with all members of the ICT Department and it’s key customers – internal and external. Remain up to date with ICT and other relevant industry technology shifts, best practice, trends, data and statutory requirements. Ensure internal and external compliance requirements, undertake assigned audits, communicating outcomes and supporting and driving action points. As required, to stand-up and cover the responsibilities of the ICT Operations & Projects Manager. Position may include travel within the UK & Europe.

Qualifications & Professional Accreditation

  • Essential – Prince 2, Agile or equivalent project delivery certification.

  • Desirable - Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP). Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE). ITIL Foundation Qualification

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential - Demonstrable experience of ICT Project Management Experience of working in a senior ICT / line management position. Able to build strong working partnerships with both colleagues and those who deliver change in an organisation. Experience of delivering software & infrastructure projects with a material impact on the profitability, efficiency or risk profile of the parent organisation or its clients while ensuring that the needs of the organisation are met and team members are adding value to all assigned projects. Expertise in delivering large-scale, transformational IT projects from implementation to conclusion. Critical National Infrastructure / 24/7 Operational environments. MS Project, Microsoft OS MS 365.

Desirable - Experience in transitions / Acquisitions / Divestments SSOW Asana

Hours of work – Days. Additional hours may be required to be worked in line with business requirements. Be prepared to travel / stay overnight, in order to carry out role & responsibilities. Prepared to consider & contribute to appropriate secondments & additional business projects - some travel to Europe will be required to support business expansion projects. Right to work in the UK.
