Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client based in South Shields. This is a full time permanent role.
Areas of Responsibility:
Provide maintenance support to production by ensuring a fast and efficient response to equipment problems.
Carry out maintenance on all equipment (identified through the Training Matrix).
Escalate any issues with maintenance within the agreed timeframes of the department to the relevant people.
Carry out regular preventative maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
Maintain correct and accurate document records in line with the maintenance activities carried out.
Identify opportunities for improvement and implement suitable solutions.
Provide support to onsite engineering projects.
Provide engineering solutions to reoccurring incidents of equipment problems.
Recognise spares and part requirements.
Carry out ad hoc duties as when required which may not be listed above to meet business needs.
Skills & Experience Required for the role:
Educated to ONC/HNC level in an engineering discipline or equivalent (qualified by experience also considered).
Must have a maintenance background (both mechanical and electrical) with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Ideally with a working knowledge of PLC and familiar with fault finding.
Experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing organisation.
Quick understanding of complex situation and implementation of corrective actions.
Must be a team player and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work and conflicting priorities.
Problem solving skills are required, as well as an ability to communicate issues and corrective actions to management.
Ability to be able to work shifts is essential.
