​Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer on behalf of our client based in Aberdeen. This is a full time staff position.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate and develop customised solutions and designs

  • Produce and check mechanical engineering documentation deliverables and engineering analyses (FEA, hand calculations, technical specifications etc.)

  • Ensure all deliverables are technically in accordance with client requirements and governing standards

  • Participate in internal design review meetings, being aware of commercial implications

  • Ensure that internal checking and approvals procedures are adhered to

  • Review and respond to client’s technical comments/feedback

  • Attend and participate in client meetings, always ensuring customer care is at the foremost position

  • Contribute to the investigation, resolution, and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion

  • Reduce cost of product through new design simplification and existing product redesign

  • Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved

  • Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department

  • Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy

  • Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures, and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times

  • Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

  • Develop FATs, SITs and offshore IRM procedures

HS & E Responsibilities

  • Ensure familiarity with the clients HSEQ Policies, Principles and HSE Operating System

  • Actively promote, through your personal commitment, HSEQ Policies, Principles, and HSE Operating system

  • Be seen as a role model on HSE matters within your areas of operation and influence

  • Demonstrate HSE leadership of HSEQ Policies, Principles and HSE Operating system

  • Take personal responsibility for HSE local site rules and ensure regular review of your personal HSE agreement

  • Intervene and ensure intervention by others where required

  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with Procedures

  • Keep abreast of industry developments and innovations that may affect safety and welfare of personnel or protection of the environment, and inform colleagues accordingly

  • Ensure consistent application of HSEQ Standard in your area of operation and influence
