Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Mechanical Instrumentation Technician on behalf of our client based in Teesside. This is a full time permanent role.
The roll of Mechanical Instrumentation Technician will be to supplement the field service team as a focal point/lead for the manufacturing installation/integration of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Hydrogen Gas Control Systems. They will act as a technical lead on projects and also as a part of a larger team for construction and commissioning scopes. This is a unique opportunity to support all established and developing areas of engineering through Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Marine and Renewables. The position is focused in the Tees Valley however there is a requirement to travel to support the development of these industries and the company’s expectations for the growth of the Teesside Team
To ensure that work activities are executed in accordance with the Company’s HSE policy and where applicable the customer’s site rules
To carry out Toolbox Talks and other safety measures to ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day work detail and daily activity planning
Review customer supplied Schematics, P&ID’s, and GAs to determine proposed scope of work for the client
To define equipment and tools specification requirements to execute the work
To complete product take offs if required and prepare list of materials and consumables
Produce method statements and risk assessments as per job requirements
Lead the trouble shooting and maintenance of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Gas Systems
Lead the installation and commissioning of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Gas Systems
Ensure that in-house manufacturing of hydraulic equipment is completed as per customer specifications, the clients quality standards and schedule
Ensure that in-house overhauling and testing of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Gas Management equipment such as pumps, compressors, actuators, control valves and accumulators are completed as per the clients procedures and necessary reports, and engineering data are generated
Internal interfaces – Technical Services Supervisor, Project Coordinator, Services Team. External interfaces: - Customers
Essential Experience
NVQ / ONC / C&G in Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering
Hands on experience in Hydraulic, Pneumatic or Instrumentation service industry
Competent in Small Bore Tubing installation
Ability to read and understand Hydraulic and Pneumatic schematics, P&ID’s, and GA’s
Experience in overhauling and testing of pumps, motors, and control valves
Hands on experience in trouble shooting, servicing and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Hands on experience in hydraulic bolt torquing and joint integrity
Good knowledge of hydraulic and instrument fittings and threads
Hydraulic accumulator precharging, maintenance and servicing
Must be computer proficient with knowledge in MS Office
Comfortable working away from home and being reactive with regards to customer requirements
Experience of working in a team or independently
