Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Production Planner on behalf of our client based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. This is a full time staff position.

The Production Planners primary function is to plan and prepare production schedules for the manufacture of finished products.  This shall be done by drawing up a master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation, in order to meet shipping dates according to customer orders and sales forecasts. 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Continual improvement in key target areas - productivity / output efficiencies and downtime

  • Maintain established procedures and ensure compliance with company policies, work instructions and safe working practices; implement and maintain ‘best practice’ disciplines

  • Attend daily production meetings and communicate any issues affecting adherence to the scheduled production plan

  • Liaise with the sales and purchasing department as well as print and conversion managers to arrange timings of workflow through each department, in order to achieve required delivery dates

  • Use of Macola, ASP and Excel to maintain workflow and productivity

  • Produce and maintain a master schedule

  • Plan production schedule on a weekly basis taking into account lead times, due dates and resources; clarify and optimise the plan

  • Review progress of production schedule at the daily operations meeting; identifying potential issues and developing mitigation plans to reduce risk

  • Expedite agreed mitigation plans and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions

  • Responsible for protecting the client's professional reputation and safeguarding the future of the business and its employees
