Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Projects Manager on behalf of our client based in Warrington. This is a full time permanent role.
Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for managing the design and implementation of process control systems and all project lifecycle activities, including fault-finding, the preparation of design specifications and reports, software programming, project execution, testing, installation and commissioning.
You will be in charge of managing and developing the process control systems engineering team in Middlesbrough. This will include all project activities and also the engineer’s motivation, assessment, mentoring, training and career development. You will work closely with senior members to develop your engineers, in order to achieve the best utilisation of your team.
Required skills & experience
Ideal candidates will have completed either a computer, instrumentation, controls degree, or gained more than ten years’ industry experience. A professional project management qualification such as APMP or Prince2 would be advantageous to the role.
You will be involved in managing a wide range of projects including Software projects, control systems including PLC, SCADA, distributed control systems, and industrial safety systems.
You must be capable of planning tasks in a controlled manner, producing Gantt charts using MS Project and be able to communicate the plans with project team members. You will be required to deliver the control systems within agreed time and cost restraints.
You must be competent in coding at least one of the following Visual Basic, C++, C#, PLC, DCS or SCADA systems and have sufficient practical experience to be able to work with other types of systems, as dictated by project requirements.
Good documentation and communication skills, planning and time management are essential for this role. The discipline to regularly update project control and monitoring tools to deal with actions, risks and issues is essential.
