​Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Purchasing Coordinator on behalf of our client based in Washington, Tyne and Wear. This is a full time permanent role.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Supervise/manage the purchase order administrator.

  • Preparation of the Vendor management control ledger, benchmarking and setting preferred suppliers.

  • Implementing robust contractual agreements with suppliers

  • Delivering savings to the business

  • To check and approve Purchase Orders with suppliers and chase through to delivery

  • To ensure that the Purchase Order process is compliant with the company rules

  • Managing supplier performance and driving improvements across the supply chain to add value

  • Work with the Finance department to ensure costs are correctly recorded

  • Management and implantation of KPIs and improvement plans

  • Track material status to required date (ensure all dates in the Purchasing system are accurate and up to date) and expedite as necessary

  • Building Relationships with Suppliers

  • Growing the Supplier base to ensure we are always receiving the best terms

  • Maintain our Supplier and Contractor Database in line with Quality System to maintain ISO9001:2015

  • Preparing monthly procurement reports and KPIs

  • Assisting with annual audit

  • Assist with the improvement and implementation of the purchase order system

  • Management of monthly agency accounts

Requirements for role

  • Proven procurement experience

  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills

  • Experience of driving costs down and savings

  • Confidence and experience to manage suppliers and drive forward improvements

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Fully IT literate with standard Microsoft Office packages, with particular strengths using Microsoft Excel Package

  • Able to build excellent working relationships and work collaboratively
