Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Quality Lead on behalf of our client based in Aberdeen. This is a full time permanent role.
Position Overview:
The Quality lead is accountable to deliver robust, efficient Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) processes that support all Company activities and leads efforts to promote & apply sound practices in the field of Quality.
Accountabilities:
To work in accordance with the company’s integrated management system – operations / projects / shutdowns & wells
Supporting the functions by ensuring compliance to all the necessary codes, standards and statutory requirements associated with Quality Assurance/Quality Controls applicable for operating in the UKCS
Technical owner of all QA/QC Policies, Principles, Procedures, Work Instructions and associated documents & forms
Support business stream TL’s in the effective implementation of QA/QC methodologies and measuring the Performance Improvement in these areas
Support & development of Quality function and processes in all RSRUK supporting systems
Management and execution oversight of all Quality Audit activities
Act as focal point for review and approval of all Contractors and Suppliers from a Quality perspective in support of Company contracting plan
Focal point for Coaching of QA/QC methodologies for functions and applicable stakeholders
Act as direct report for the QA/QC Coordinator role in all day to day operations incl implementation of a managed program of QC Inspection activities. Support the ongoing development of the QA/QC Coordinator in all activities relating to the Quality function
Act as direct report for any site-based Quality-focused resources (including Torry Marine Base and Dales) as well as temporary Quality-focused resources engaged by the Company to execute project work
Lead role in setting up & maintenance of any site-based Quality improvement initiatives
Key Duties:
Champion for application of good quality practices throughout business
Providing management and coaching on the application of modern QA & QC principles
Supporting the QA/QC Coordinator in their duties managing quality control inspectors including allocating inspection surveillance resources and review of inspection related documentation
Provide support to Operations, Projects (Capex & Abex) & Shutdown teams to ensure the correct level of QA/QC is implemented in line with Company requirements.
Carry out Company quality audits on Contractors and Suppliers in accordance with the Annual Plan or as required
Review all potential Contractors and Suppliers from a Quality perspective in order to establish if they meet Company criteria, in support of the Companies contracting plan
Maintain and develop awareness of relevant engineering technology and Codes & Standards. Facilitate the development, issuance and maintenance of procedures within the requirements of the management system in co-operation with the functional groups
Ensure Contractors and Subcontractors are working in accordance with the procedures and specifications / data sheets
Report on non-conforming items including corrective & preventative actions. Ensure these are closed out within agreed timescales.
Plan & maintain all quality deliverables, reporting progress status to the Head of Capital Projects Assurance on a regular basis.
Represent the Company in any external forums relating to Company or Industry Quality matters
Education Attainment & Accreditation:
Ideally Graduate in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, Business Management or other relevant subject or suitable equivalent experience through on the job training and development
Post Graduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Asset Integrity, Safety & Reliability or other associated discipline
Registered Lead Auditor IRCA qualification
Have detailed knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 quality system requirements and implementation.
Professional Skills & Experience:
Extensive experience of QA & QC processes within the Oil & Gas Industry preferably with an Operator or Tier 1 EPIC Contractor
Have a demonstrated background and knowledge of codes of International standards such as EEMUA, AWS, ISO, ASNT, NACE, API, ASME, NORSOK, PED and Atex in the discipline of their expertise
Suitably experienced and qualified in a relevant engineering discipline with proven track record in the discipline of Quality (QA/QC)
Detailed working knowledge and proven abilities in application of National and International codes and standards
Good understanding of established & commonly used manufacturing processes and fabrication practices
Good experience in Materials Management, Inventory Management, Warehousing Operations and Logistics
Good experience with ERP/EAMS systems (incl. Maximo) and their application, support, development & reporting capabilities
Good experience in training and coaching of QA/QC methodologies for non-QA personnel
A solid understanding of computerised systems including word processing and presentation packages
Have a fundamental understanding of independent verification activities and the role of verification societies (Lloyds/DNV/BV/ABS)

Ability to travel to RSRUK sites outside of Aberdeen (on and offshore if necessary)
Ability to travel to supplier/contractor premises outside of Aberdeen and the UK
