Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer on behalf of our client based in Stockton-on-Tees. This is a full time permanent role.
Primary purpose of role
Work with all members of the Procurement team to achieve results and develop good working relationships
Ensure goods and services are procured in line with the client’s policies and procedures, achieving value for money
Engage, develop & manage assigned reports
Provide assistance to the Procurement Management Team in the strategic development of the Supplier Base
Major duties
Promote and monitor compliance with good procurement policies and best practice ensuring probity and ethics across the clients business, working alongside other support functions including Legal, Finance & HR
Co-ordinate with all the sites to support general, Capital and Project Procurement activities
Manage, develop, and engage assigned reports, being clear about job and team requirements, monitoring and addressing development, performance & welfare actions
Manage and develop contracts for goods and services giving consideration to contract strategy, commercial structure, terms and conditions of contract, and cross site efficiencies and initiatives
Comply with purchasing systems and procedures, ensuring value & quality goods and services are procured
Manage and maintain the invitation to tender processes. Develop contracts considering terms and conditions, structure, strategy, and cross-site initiatives
Effectively work with assigned project teams, internal customers, and the Procurement team to develop and improve contracts, terms & conditions, structure, strategy and performance
Contract management, including identifying supply chain efficiencies and supplier performance issues
Contract process ownership including invitation to tender and post contract management for the client
Understand customer needs & provide consistently excellent service and the ability to adapt and work effectively across all situations
Liaise with the relevant departments in the pre-qualification of all suppliers
Portray the position of Senior Buyer, positively & professionally, taking responsibility for personal outcomes within job responsibilities and is focused on achieving
Actively improve, develop and enhance new & existing skills, learning from past experiences and adapting behaviour in response to feedback
