Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Senior IT Technician on behalf of our client based in South Shields. This is a full time permanent role.
Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for the maintenance, development, and implementation of Information Technology systems within the business
To advise and promote appropriate use of Information Technology for the benefit of the business and its goals/objectives. Includes all forms of voice and/or data transmission
Areas of Responsibility:
Responsible for all IT related functions at South Shields site including Computer Network, Servers, Network applications, e-mail, Internet Access, Desktop PCs, laptops, Network and local printers, Copiers, Fax Machines and Projectors
Also responsible for the telephone system and programming, building security access system and all associated wiring of the above systems
Specify all hardware and some desktop software requirements for the entire site. Approve all billing invoices and write PRs for Telecom and IT related expenditure
Maintain hardware inventory
Key Tasks:
Responsible for the maintenance, improvement and implementation of Information Technology Department and Systems (all voice and data) in support of the business requirements and objectives. In liaison with the client Corporate IT, the recommendations and implementation of new technologies to assist the business meet its goals and objectives
Support application and digitalization projects for the factory: O365, SRM, CRM, MS Power Platform
Ensure compliance with national/international legislation relating to data storage/retrieval and use of Information Technology systems and associated information - includes role of Data Controller for the business under GDPR
Support and advise Management Team on matters relating to Technology, best practice, and legislation
Continuous improvement of Facility processes and World Class initiatives
Manage all aspects of IS security that are connected to your position and ensure that business continuity plans are in place
Manage IT Budget and forecast responsible for developing and managing IT budgets for the factory, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively and anticipate their evolution
Monitor and maintain the IT infrastructure: monitor server services, network performance, analyse logs, monitor, support the backup environment, maintain a DRP (Disaster Recovery Planning)
Handle any aspect of IS security link to your responsibility: keep all servers and computers up to date, check, and conduct actions of the scan of Vulnerability
Manage obsolescence of Server: Upgrading operating server, migration
Work with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies
Documentation: realisation of procedure, document configuration and process
Skills & Experience required for the role:
Minimum Degree Qualified in a Computing/IT related discipline with 5 years computer network experience in a corporate environment, with supervisory experience
Extensive experience gained in manufacturing environment - must have an in-depth appreciation of all facets of business and how IT systems can assist/increase efficiency of business
Proven knowledge of Securing and hardening Domain environments
Experience with cloud solution
MFG-Pro or similar Enterprise Resource Programme (ERP)
Fully conversant with networked Microsoft Office applications
Proven experience with Hyper Converged solutions
