Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Senior Wind Turbine Controls Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a full time permanent role. This role remote working.

Some of the Key Accountabilities
Reimagining approaches and solutions to long standing wind industry problems
Using your wind turbine controls industry knowledge, creating development plans for new technology offerings that provide significant market differentiation and disruption
Lead the technical development in wind turbine controls technology, defining technical specifications and delivery plans
Responsible for all architectural control layers and levels associated with the company’s technology roadmap inc, hardware, firmware, software and SCADA
Define technical requirements and scopes of work for wind turbine control systems inc software, firmware and hardware
Responsible for the development of wind turbine control system strategies and system architectures
Domain expert in wind turbine control parameters and interface strategies for retrofits and upgrades
Responsible for the implementation of wind turbine protocols, cyber security, and encryption
Provides technical support on the IEC 61400-1 and 61850 certifications related to Control and Protection Systems in the power industry.
Lead software development teams using Scrum or agile frameworks.
Owns, develops, and implements the progress of all projects within their remit

Likely candidates will have a proven track record working within Wind Turbine OEMs or certification bodies and be passionate about wanting to challenge the way things are done!
Essential
New wind turbines: tuning and application of control solutions
Retrofit projects: optimization of performance of existing turbines
Market knowledge of wind turbine control OEM strategies
Computer and/or PLC programming: C/C++, PLC Structured text (IEC 61131-3), or similar
Understanding of all architectural control layers and levels in the wind turbine industry inc, hardware, firmware, software and SCADA
Use of revision control systems (subversion, git, etc.)
Scripting: python or similar languages
Object Oriented design methodology and implementation experience
Familiarity with priority-based operating systems (e.g. VxWorks)
Familiarity with communication protocols: CAN, RS422/485, Modbus TCP/RTU, or similar
Familiarity with software and controls documentation methods and tools such as process diagrams, state machine diagrams, flow charts, logic diagrams, data flow diagrams, or similar
Basic knowledge of electrical control circuitry and electronics
Basic use of oscilloscope
Working knowledge of sensors, actuators, embedded controllers
General troubleshooting and debugging skills
Thorough knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel
Matlab/Simulink experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attitude, with an ability to convey technical information to non-technical people
Ability to develop, communicate and deliver upon strategic sales plans
Self-motivation and an ability to work autonomously, efficiently, and rigorously including the ability to manage own time and workload effectively
Ability to work unsupervised and exercise initiative to resolve potential problems
