Superior Recruitment Group are looking for an experienced Technical Engineer on behalf of our client based in Sunderland. This is a full time staff position.
Role Responsibilities
The Technical Engineer will be focused on supporting all aspects of the business, supporting the front-end engineering at the tendering stage by creating and validating conveyor power and tension calculations and providing the specifications of conveyor/equipment post-award. Due to the technical nature of the FTT business, the Technical Engineer will be expected to liaise and support client facing discussions at various phases within a project. The Technical Engineer provides technical support to multiple stakeholders – internally and externally. This position requires problem solving skills with the ability to provide conceptual and strategic solutions. Role Duties
Support Proposals/Bids with steel target weights, engineering time and concepts
Produce Conveyor calculations and reports (powers / tensions calculations)
Technical specification of major proprietary items (such as drums, winches, and transmissions)
Provide technical assistance and guidance to all areas of the business
Promote product development and best practice
Promote cost reduction, value engineering, standardisation, and risk reduction
Participate and provide technical input to internal and external design review meetings
Produce purchasing specifications and equipment schedules
Assist to resolve quality issues and determine appropriate measures to prevent re-occurrence
Provide technical assistance and guidance to the Sales/Bids teams
Provide training and guidance to engineering staff
Liaise directly with clients where required, always representing the business in a professional manner
Desired Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science / Engineering / Maths Degree or equivalent relevant discipline (Required)
Experienced in effective Change Management implementation (Required)
5 years’ experience in engineering design, machine application (Desired)
Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools (Desired)
Experienced with implementing Lean Engineering principles (Desired)
Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies beneficial (Beneficial)
